The location was amazing, very central and only a short walk to the old town. Nice park to walk through as well. The atmosphere was decent, a few clubs next to the hotel but wasn’t too much of a problem. The Zabka at the bottom of the hotel was very convenient. The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable, great size room for sharing and lovely big windows you can open fully. The room and location was amazing price, paid £50 for 1 night and was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Noise level was quiet, a few loud people from the clubs but nothing to complain or be negative about.
3 stars for summer, easily 4 in a different season, read on…This Hotel does NOT have air conditioning in the rooms. We visited during the hotest part of the year, 95-100F and humid so the room was like a sauna. Couple that with having to leave the windows open at night to try to cool the room and the boisterousness of those drinking late in the pavillion below and the continuous road noise, we didnt sleep well. The noise disturbance was due to having the windows open as a direct effect of no AC so…in the cooler parts of the year these two things would have been non issues. I heavily considered that when trying to rate this hotel. However, the hotel provided a fan, so i thought we were fine, only to find TWO electrical outlets in the room near the closet 3-4m (10-12’) from the windows. This means the fan had to be plugged in there opposite the windows and bed, potentially contradicting any cooler air that could come in, in the evening, also taking up one of the only two outlets for charging your devices. This could be addressed easily enough with an extension cord which we now intend to secure as part of our standard traveling equipment. When you leave the room you must pull your card which also kills all the power in the room thereby also preventing us from charging electronics while at breakfast, etc. we could have used, maybe a credit card but we dont leave those unattended in the room so again this greatly limited our ability to keep air moving in the room and charge devices at our leisure. This unnecessary conundrum dropped a full star. The room felt clean, bathroom was small but adequate, although when you bend over to wash your feet, presuming you do wash your feet, you may unintentially bump the shower control and change the temperature or turn off the flow, my husband said he effectively accidentally turned off the water at least once during each shower and i turned the other way and bumped my head on the “grip bar” or “towel rack” not sure why thats in there they do not provide wash cloths which is the only thing i might hang there. Linens both bed and bath were crisp and clean. Bedding was comfortable, bed was adequate, not memorable but not wallowed or uncomfortable, unfortunately just too hot to enjoy. I suspect if it was winter we would have enjoyed this room. Little interaction with staff but what we did have was professional and friendly. Breakfast we spot on with a lot of options with hot eggs, sausages and potatoes as well as cold cuts, salads, fruits and breads. We visited the bar downstairs and had a cocktail our last night here (to allow the room to continue to cool and soak up some fluids and AC, the drinks were iced and well made. Location was awesome. Just cross the steet to enter the park and old town. Overall do not recommend for hot summer but would stay here again in the fall, winter or spring.
Good location and a staff that wants to please customers. However the hotel is what it is. The weather was unusually hot and the hotel is NOT Air Conditioned! The rooms are very small and mine had virtually no ventilation. I elected to NOT stay there even when offered a higher level room but still with NO Air Conditioning. It’s 2026 folks. If you’re going to be in the hospitality business you need a good physical plant to work with. This hotel is not it.
