Landed from our flight quite early 9am we were only here for 3 days joining other family members for a birthday, arrived at the hotel and tried to check in but the older woman at reception was quite abrupt pointing at the sign saying “no! 3pm check in! She said we could leave our bags in a room next to reception but noticed the door was open so we didn’t. We went back at 3pm and there was more staff on a younger man and lady, the man checked us in he was quite nice. Told us the time for breakfast and our room and the WiFi code. Used the lift on the left hand side but by the next day the one of the right was out of order. The room was lovely massive beds, fridge, hand wash, body wash and shampoo and clean towels. At first we couldn’t put the bathroom light on but after a few minutes messing with the switches we got it on. Then the air-con wouldn’t come on so we realised the balcony door wasn’t closed correctly then that came on… then the WiFi code wouldn’t hook up and had to jiggle a few letters then finally figured it out. For 3 days paid the Spanish tax it was €6. We asked for a safe for the room but the guy on reception told us there was no technician available on Sundays so we couldn’t have one? Was told the next day by another staff member it’s because if that safe was locked by the previous person staying they would not be able to open it only the technician - So if you land on a Sunday you can’t get a safe. The breakfast was nice, it has hot food, pastry’s,coffee/tea/juice. Also cold meats and bread. Plenty of tables we went around 10am it was very quite, the breakfast time was 8-11am. The next day we tried to use the stairs going down and they had blocked them off, So we went back to the lift and the right hand side has broken down so there was only the left one working. On the Tuesday they had completely closed off the reception doors as they were painting the ceiling but no signs anywhere telling you? If you had just arrived you would have been confused as anything! Glad I didn’t! I had to go to reception to ask how to get out! Also no signs telling you the stairs were blocked off only that the hand rails had been painted. If you book with love holidays beware they don’t drop you at the hotel but at another hotel ours was the (4R Salou Park Resort II) Other family members staying on the same street had a similar problem. It’s quite hilly when walking up & down to the centre it’s not far about 5 minute walk but essentially everything is around you. Nice hotel basic but clean and I would stay again.
The carpets in the corridors was disgusting the room smelt damp and mouldy fridge was black inside. Only 1 lift working when we had a wheel chair user's with us and stairs was shut off due to work men .no hot tubs available on roof top till 15th of June so false advertisements. Fag ends every were out it was such a awful stay and ruined my hoilday.air con didnt work inside room
Stayed here recently and unfortunately the service experience started badly from the moment we arrived. At check-in, I was asked for my passport. I understand that hotels may require identification, and in hindsight I should probably have known that, but I haven’t travelled for many years and genuinely forgot. I didn’t have my physical passport or ID with me, only a photo of my passport on my phone. What disappointed me was not the rule itself, but the way it was handled. The younger receptionist was trying to help, but an older staff member came over and immediately became very hostile. She rolled her eyes at me, spoke very rudely, and even asked me “Do you not speak English?” despite the fact that I was already speaking English to her. It felt unnecessary and disrespectful. The room itself was actually fine — clean and generally good — so I have no complaints there. However, there are several other issues. The hotel is currently undergoing maintenance/renovation work which creates significant noise during the day and morning hours. There were also many children around the pool area despite the hotel being marketed as “Adults Recommended,” which felt strange and not really what we expected. The pool bar experience was also disappointing. The menu clearly listed Sangria de Cava by the glass for €5.50. My partner ordered one together with a beer, but received a regular sangria instead. When we pointed out the mistake, the bartender told us they only make Sangria de Cava in 1-litre portions costing €20, despite the menu clearly saying otherwise. Instead of correcting the mistake properly, my partner was offered a beer instead. The problem is that the beer costs around €2.50 while the sangria cost €5.50 — and no refund or compensation was offered. We essentially paid extra because of their own menu mistake. Overall, the room itself was okay, but the service throughout our stay has felt unnecessarily hostile, unhelpful, and disappointing.
