Just returned from 9 days at this hotel Arrived in time to get in the room which I have to say was a bit of a shocker as we had to carry our cases a fair walk to the far annexe which included two lots of steps was glad we were on the ground floor Room was clean nice bathroom and beds sadly no fridge to keep water cold and no kettle which with the room being so far from the bars was a negative as I live an early morning coffee Next food is nice and there is plenty of choice and the snack bar has great biscuits and ham and cheese slices Entertainment is sketchy but we played cards or chatted to some lovely people The location is excellent beautiful walks along the beach front The Tuktuk sky walk is fabulous Pool is freezing sea is much better the hotel does supply pool towels My big negative and why this hotel only got 4 stars is and this is not advertised that every year they have numerous teams of water polo young boys a tournament that’s been going on for 25 years so for the majority of our stay there were groups of often unsupervised young boys running around the hotel when they weren’t playing their games The worst was two days before we came home the restaurant was like a school canteen numerous young boys using their fingers to put ice cream in bowls it was horrible no supervision This hotel is lovely but this should be advertised their were elderly people who were extremely uncomfortable and could have chosen another hotel which we certainly would have if we had known I have absolutely no issue with children on holidays but this was different Other than this the hotel is in a beautiful location
Best location with the pebbled beach just right in front of the hotel. Walked the promenade most all night just to wind down for the night. The views here are stunning. The Mountain View’s and the sea for us is perfect. We discussed whether Tucepi or Makarska (bigger harbour- more options for sea cruise). But Makarska is only £20/per way on a taxi (15 minutes or so) or you can take a bus. I like the seaside promenade a lot. Chilled atmosphere that caters to all but if you dislike children - this is not for you. There were groups of school kids (foot ball team) during our stay. Yes, these children have made some guest angry and this elderly had rudely shouted at them which I think was inappropriate. This hotel has another 4-star further up the road called Blue Sun ALGA. We stayed in Blue Sun Neptune which offered a better or fair price. For 10 days, food got a bit repetitive but here is plenty to choose. I can’t be too picky as the food is decent and palatable. The table counters were kept clean. I enjoyed chatting to a circle of Filipinos workers here - chatty, smiling and accommodating. Most of them were really helpful with elderly or people with disabilities. Rooms are well cleaned daily. Over all, I will go back to this hotel when given the chance. Photos below is my favourite view from the pool and the open top balcony.
We stayed at the hotel the last week of September. The start of the week was promising, the hotel is nice, pretty clean, the staff friendly and the food was fine. My partner has dietary requirements and we found the restaurant managers extremely accommodating and helpful so no issues here. Our original room was pretty small and very noisy at the front of the hotel so we upgraded to a superior room with a sea view, this was bigger and had a lovely sea view from the balcony. The only thing missing which we felt would have benefitted our stay would have been a mini fridge, if just for cold water as no bottled water was available and meant a few trips from our room to the bar for water. Also the air conditioning was very noisy and didn't appear to work very well it might have been too hot in the summer but due to the time of year we visited it was manageable. The pool is nice, there was a lot of free loungers and we never felt like we couldn't find one. The pool bar staff were friendly and efficient but the drinks on offer weren't particularly nice, "cocktails" on tap that were weak and the wine and spirits that were clearly cheap. Our other issue was for some reason they played loud party music in the morning but not in the afternoon? We definitely felt this was the wrong way round. Also there was limited evening entertainment so we ended up spending most of them in our rooms as the seating around the pool bar and plastic glasses didn't appeal but the lounge bar wasn't much comfier either. What spoiled what started our as a nice break for us was the continuous groups of school children (we estimate around 7-8 different groups during the week of our stay) that appeared at lunch, dinner (touching food which gave me hygiene concerns) and even at the pool. Barely supervised, loud and disruptive. Not the relaxing holiday we had planned! If we had known about this in advance we would not have chosen this hotel and we are extremely disappointed by this. I'm not sure if this is common or if we just got unlucky but I think the hotel should provide this information before booking. I noticed other reviews mentioned school trips negatively also. Other guests were complaining at dinner. Tucepi itself is beautiful and I would recommend a visit but I would not recommend this hotel.
