Attended DB sea bank at the end of summer. Fabulous staff, especially Leon on the jungle restaurant and the barman in the sports bar. The staff work very hard and try to ensure they provide the best service. There is a large variety of food options. The room was perfect and clean. I went with my daughter and she enjoyed every second. She wanted her hair braided and the receptionist Marianne went out it of her way to find us somewhere to get it done. The hotel was clean, and had everything you need for a family holiday. Thank you
My partner and I booked the all-inclusive package through EasyJet Holidays and overall we had a great time! The location was perfect as we could travel through the island easily as well as get to Gozo with ease. Mellieha is a great spot to be in! I'd say that if you are looking for a top-tier luxury experience, then this isn't for you. But if you are an easy, no-frills type of traveller who still enjoys nice things, then this is for you. It's a good middle-ground between luxury and low-budget. My partner and I had a family room so it was plenty of space, much more than we expected. Family rooms come with a main bedroom with a king size bed and a smaller room with two twin beds, divided by a wall and sliding door. Now we know that this type is for families with kids. Since we don't have any we treated our second room as a walk-in closet of sorts (haha!) The bathroom was a superb size and clean and the walk-in shower was lovely with a rainfall shower head. If you are averse to being in resorts with many children, this place isn't for you. The resort feels like it caters to children and families the most, so there isn't really a romantic nature to it. There is at least an adult pool, and the late night bar doesn't allow children. Overall the staff were super friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to our housekeeper Yadar and our fave server Jonathan. The food is probably what I found relatively disappointing compared to everything else. Though the all-inclusiveness provides a plethora of buffets, sometimes the food at certain restaurants/dining rooms in the resort lack flavour. The breakfast buffet (we ate late breakfast at Laguna) is pretty standard, but nothing special at all. Don't expect a breakfast with the best tasting food; but you'll surely leave full. There is a great variety of breakfast foods, and there is something for everyone. FYI: there is only instant coffee, so if you're particular about your coffee, I suggest getting it from outside the resort. The lunch buffet (we ate at Coral) is way better overall. Many different choices of cuisine with lovely desserts as well. They also provide wines and beers on tap. The Sunday Lunch was fantastic and seemed to be different from what we had earlier in the week. My favourite dinner experiences at the resort were Levant and the Outdoor BBQ. Both were incredible in flavour and I highly recommend eating at Levant for dinner. The dinner at Salia (we had the sharing menu which was included in our all-inclusive package) was lacklustre and lacked in flavour. We think we should have tried the a la carte option. All dining rooms and restaurants have last entry at 9pm and close at 9:30pm, so if you are a late arrival to the hotel, you will unfortunately miss dinner. However, the special touch that I appreciated the most was the late night "snacks" option from 11pm. This was beyond a snack; it was actually a great selection of salads, finger foods and I suppose whatever other cold or room temp food they served at earlier dining times that day. Make sure to ask the reception about this, as they have to lead you to where it is. Onsite, there are many activities to do including pool aerobics, sports areas as well as The Dome which hosts various shows in the evening and the spa and gym. The resort is located across from the beach, so there are plenty of beach and watersports activities to look into in case the resort's amenities don't suit you. The gym is a great facility and there is also a huge indoor pool with a jacuzzi. You won't be bored staying here! And even if you feel like experiencing a different flavour, the resort is right on the beach and accessible to many other things in Mellieha.
