The room we stayed in was okay at first and was pretty much what you would expect from a budget hotel. The hotel is clearly very outdated and in need of renovation. There are signs around the hotel saying that renovation works are in progress, although we didn’t see any evidence of this during our stay. For the price, what you get is reasonable. The breakfast is continental and quite basic, but again, that’s to be expected from a budget hotel. The location is one of the hotel’s biggest positives. It’s around a 10-minute walk from Vatican City, making it a convenient base if you’re visiting Rome to see the sights. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. On the second day of our stay, my wife noticed that she had been bitten. We initially assumed they were mosquito bites. A couple of days later, however, we noticed a small bug on the bed. We inspected the mattress and found clear evidence of a bed bug infestation, which explained the bites that both of us had received. The hotel did move us to another room, which we appreciated, but the fact that we had stayed several nights and been bitten before the infestation was discovered is extremely concerning. This should have been identified and dealt with before guests were put in the room. Overall, the location and price are reasonable, but finding bed bugs in the room completely overshadowed the positives of our stay. A hotel should have proper procedures in place to regularly check rooms and mattresses for this kind of issue.

Cannot understand how a hotel that is rated 4 stars can bear no more than 2 upon closer inspection. The hotel is under renovation, and it has been since mid-2025, it is far from finished yet. It is worn out and there are many things that need to be done to the rooms that are rented out. There is no bar, no terrace except when having breakfast. The worst thing is that none of this comes through when you book. I more clearly that this is the last time we have been there. There is also a restaurant that should also be there according to the website.

Exellent location that’s the only good thing. Rooms no air con fridge not cold staff would always make up room when told not to. No restaurant or bar half the hotel was like a building site breakfast was down the road in a different cafe and had a very poor selection only Italian things no Rice Krispies or breakfast tea. Apart from housekeeping staff were like statues no help or advice as to how to get places just nodded yet spoke English. I’m glad I was travelling solo because if two people were in that bed we’d still be stuck together.
