We stayed at this hotel for a week in mid-September. It is in a fantastic location meaning it’s very easy to get into Salou and up to PortAventura World. The rooms are modern with very comfy beds. We stayed in a pool view twin room and the balcony has 2 chairs, table and an airer. The bathrooms could do with some modernising and updating but are adequate. You can hear very clearly anyone walking down the hallway and this can be rather loud. However, the balcony door does do a good job in blocking out any noise from outside. The hotel itself is not very well looked after, specifically the main pool areas. We booked this hotel as it came with PortAventura tickets, the theme park is very well looked after and modern, it seems this hotel has been forgotten about. The main pool areas are cluttered with cracked tiles and dirty water collecting in the damaged areas. The sun loungers and parasols are not cleaned and have visible dirt all over them. The main pool areas are hosed down each night but this just moved the dirt around. The main seating area and lounger area would often be cluttered with litter and disused cups and food containers. It was very rare this was cleaned up. The rooftop adult only pool was lovely and very well kept, however it was rather odd that you couldn’t take any drinks up there and enjoy the cleaner area. Food at the hotel was tasty but is your usual all inclusive spread. A lot of reviews explain that the food is inedible however we found it good, just lacked some variety. The theme nights would often just be a very slight variation on the usual dishes however the “China” night was really good and contained many different dishes. The staff at the hotel were friendly and approachable but you could tell that they were quite stretched and had to cover multiple areas or didn’t have enough staff members to adequately serve areas. The evening entertainment is held indoors, which is an odd decision. The room is very warm and the stage is in the corner of the room. I can’t comment on the quality of the entertainment as we didn’t watch any of it. We often spent evenings outside at the tables and chairs, but again it showed that the staff were stretched as many tables were littered with used glassware. In conclusion, we wouldn’t return to this hotel until it was given the love it needs. The pool areas really do need some work ASAP, it was quite concerning that children and adults alike were walking through the pool area where there was murky and green water collecting in the many cracked tiles ( pictures attached). We would only usually spend the afternoon by the pool, but using the loungers and tables at the main pool areas just wasn’t pleasant with visible older stains. If this hotel was brought up to the same standard as its owner, PortAventura World, then it would make it a much better package.

Not good from start .......check in was a nightmare with our TUI booking not showing on the hotels system correctly despite the booking being made a year in advance, so had to move rooms a couple of times. Ok location for the amusement park and a short walk down to the beach. Room was a decent size with a pool facing balcony. Looks like the main reception area has had a refurb, but the rest of the hotel has a very 1970's feel. Main issue was the dirty and grubby pool and garden area, just felt very unclean. Lots of smokers outside the hotel so had to walk through smoke to get into the hotel, not nice! No real entertainment at night with only a few basic kids activities. Food was ok if repetitive, but the buffet restaurant felt like a canteen with no outside dining area. All the staff were helpful and were the best aspect of the hotel. I would however not return to this hotel or recommend unless the only option available.

I would love to know what the management at the hotel are doing about the sun bed wars , it’s an actual joke as well as a major health and safety issue , the mess at the pool is also unacceptable. I think that if this was reported in the uk it would be dealt with instantly, however the reviews all stay the same we are sorry to hear about this , yet not one review to state that the sunbed or the cleaning of the area has changed . My question to the person who answered all these reviews , are you planning to do anything about this ridiculous situation , like a booking system for sun beds and if not claimed by 11 am the are not yours . Are you going to wait until there is an injury before doing anything , and why is the pool area not being maintained and cleaned , there is rubbish the sun beds are dirty ! I will be awaiting the response to this . I will also be contacting the Spanish health board to see if this is allowed , for peoples children to have to endure a dirty pool area . I will await a response. In terms of the rest of the place not bad , but according to previous reviews people’s complaints seem to be ignored as the reviews from new holiday makers are very similar
