Lovely, older hotel, half a block off the main square of Old Town Krakow. No AC. Street rooms are very noisy at night. Superb staff!

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel Resydent (August 10-14). The staff at check-in and check-out were kind, while on the day we asked to book a taxi, we noticed a rather grumpy and unhelpful attitude (in the 4 days we had no other contact with the reception). We were in the detached part of the hotel that faces the back, which is less noisy but not equipped with an elevator. The stairs, made of wood but covered in carpet, immediately made us shudder: calling them filthy does not do them justice. The same can be said for the same carpet in the room, which was never cleaned in the slightest during our 4-day stay: next to the "historic" stains (the origin of which we prefer to ignore), the crumbs that fell during our stay remained fixed in place. In the bathroom, it was the same thing; nothing was ever wiped on the floor, which by the fourth day was full of footprints. Another note about the bathroom: the shower tray, apparently new, was extremely slippery, and therefore dangerous. Breakfast, while acceptable, varied little over the 4 mornings, and some items were clearly "recycled" leftovers from previous days. I feel I must advise against this hotel, which is not inexpensive, for these reasons. The central location remains excellent, convenient for visiting the wonderful city of Krakow.

Hotel in the middle of the old town. It would be nice on a normal day, but it was over 35 degrees in the heatwave. Staying here is hard because there is no air conditioning. In the morning it settled down to around 20 degrees.
