We are staying at the Salini Resort Hotel, having arrived on August 31, 2026, via VOYAGES PRIVE. This hotel is truly not worthy of a 4-star rating. The STANDARD rooms, which are quite large, have mold in the bathroom; we had to request a more thorough cleaning of the sink upon our arrival. The view at the back of the building on the "garden" side looks out onto an abandoned building. The service is absolutely terrible: every day, we had to ask for bath towels, bath products, and for someone to be able to lock the French door leading to the balcony. Regarding the pools: the lagoon is very beautiful, but despite the number of lounge chairs, people leave their bath towels on them for the entire day and often only come at the end of the afternoon. I mentioned this to the "beach pool boy," but he did nothing! Also, take into account the children who have no respect for other people or guests (parents absorbed by their cell phones) and all the summer camps that arrive and make such a racket! Therefore, there is no point in booking a room at this hotel if you wish to have a quiet stay. Food level: breakfast: buffet with a lot of variety but of lower quality, same for the evening meal (half-board) because everything is extremely salty. ZERO SERVICE: every day we had to come to the reception to open, reopen an account opened on our room: in short, we wasted our time going back and forth to the reception (and we were at the beach bar by the pool in our swimsuits) to ask what was going on. Amex Platinum, they don't take it, OK, but the same goes for normal bank cards. A real headache. Understanding of the English language: the staff responds in English randomly but does not seem to really understand the language. So, a big comprehension issue when ordering drinks in particular. Adults-only pool: well-arranged but the pool is shallow, and when it is 33 degrees, you are not in refreshing mode but jacuzzi mode, same for the shower. In summary, you can surely find better in Malta. The infrastructure is beautiful but REALLY NEEDS A REFRESH.
Hotel is isolated on a hill, whilst this gives it great views from the pool area it is a 40 minute walk to nearest shops and restaurants. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel grounds, but buses in peak season were packed so ended up spending a fortune on bolts to get to local shops and eateries. I never write reviews regarding good or bad experiences but just wanted to warn people of things to take into consideration when choosing this hotel. It is not cheap to book, hotel rooms are not clean, room service do come in daily but only to re make the beds. Room not hoovered for a week so ended up picking bits off the floor to try and keep it tidy. Balcany and bathroom dirty, reported cockroaches in bathroom to reception who sent cleaning lady to spray to room. She used fly spray which obviously did not work so had to sleep with the bathroom light on every night and double check all clothes when packing to make sure we did not bring anything back with us! I was not happy with responce from reception and asked to be moved but told no rooms available as they were fully booked. Pool area is nice with great views over the sea. Pool attendant was rude on several occasions and actually encouraged an argument with a local and my son 15 year old son who had accidentally kicked his drink over. Whilst there are plenty of sunbeds around the pool be aware that many people pay to come and use this hotel for the day, so it can get really busy especially on weekends. Restaurants can be closed to private functions so had to get transport to nearest town which was not much in a bolt but could walk it in the high heat. Large groups of kids running around on level 0, 1 and 2 as the hotel is used as a language/activitie camp, they use the pool after classes so can get busy and loud at times. Kids hanging around at night with some noice but that didn't really affect us. I hate writing bad reviews but feel people should know the facts before booking this hotel, I wish I had. Would never go back.
