The Golden Disappointment! Reception is tired, Rooms are dark & tired. It’s not a hotel you would return back to mid afternoon to relax before an evening out. The restaurant, it’s a restaurant by name only! Do not believe the photos on The Golden Crown website, I will share mine. Breakfast for me is 3 boiled eggs & some warmed up french stick, today Sunday the fresh fruit was just one option, water melon. Restaurant area lacked the bright clean look that is shown On the website, no table cloths, but grubby tables & chairs seats! I understand I cannot expect a full English while in Istanbul, but not to have “FRESH” orange juice is criminal when you can get a glass every 200 yard as you walk around the area.

We had a wonderful time at Golden Crown Hotel. From seamless check-in to a beautifully clean, comfortable room, everything felt high quality. The breakfast was varied and fresh, and the staff were genuinely warm and professional throughout. Great location too.

Pros The location of the hotel is very good in the vicinity of major tourist attractions at the Europa side of the city. This location is packed with Turkish food, bars and restaurants. You will enjoy hotel's continental breakfast everyday and if you want to eat outside, there are a lot of places. Cons The only thing that might trouble you is the narrow streets packed with people and cars. This is an ancient city and a gateway to Europe so you might feel a bit uncomfortable but the people here are very nice an hospitable. Oh by the way the amenities here are very good being basic.
